We work in partnership with local organisations, governments, health service providers and local communities who share our vision and values for reducing maternal mortality. This ensures we are providing services which are most needed and work best for each individual area.
NGO’s
Help Hoima – Help Hoima is a UK registered charity that works to improve the lives of children and the quality of healthcare, education and agriculture in Hoima, Uganda. We are working with Help Hoima to implement a community maternal health education programme.
MAHECAS – Malawi Health Care Support UK, (MAHECAS UK), was formed in February 1995 and became a UK registered charity in September 1996. The sole purpose of MAHECAS UK is to raise money to assist hospitals and medical services in Malawi. They are working with us to supply some of the equipment for the integrated maternal health programme in Malawi.
Zomba Catholic Health Commission – Zomba CHC oversee six independently run health facilities in Zomba District, Malawi. We been working with Zomba CHC over the last year to increase skills and build capacity thereby ensuring the sustainability of improvements to maternal health services.
Professional and Academic Groups
Organisation of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) – We are delighted to be working with OAFLA after a successful meeting with the First Lady of Malawi in London and Malawi in December 2015. With its permanent secretariat in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, OAFLA has moved from addressing the symptoms of the HIV/AIDS crisis to the root causes of poverty and the overall inequality of women in the region. We are delighted to be developing our partnership with OAFLA.
White Ribbon Alliance – We are a member of the White Ribbon Alliance which is an international coalition of individuals and organisations formed to increase public awareness of the need to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for all women and newborns worldwide.
The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health – We are members of PMNCH who support over 500 partners to align their strategic directions and catalyze collective action to achieve universal access to comprehensive, high-quality reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health care.
Kings Health Partners – KHP are a UK Academic Health Science Centre incorporating King’s College, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. We are implementation partners for our research partners King’s College Hospital.
BHIVA – The British HIV Association acts as a national advisory body to professions and other organisations on all aspects of HIV care. BHIVA also provides a national platform for HIV care and contributes representatives for international, national and local committees dealing with HIV care. We are exploring further applications for clinical volunteer programmes as well as integrated programmes which incorporate HIV and Maternal Health.
Ethiopian Institute of Public Health – Maternity Worldwide have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ethiopian Institute of Public Health (EIPH). The main objective of the agreement is to collaborate and make available to one another expertise, know-how and equipment to enable each party to increase laboratory capacity and research outcomes. The main areas of collaboration will be research, training, capacity building and technical assistance.
